Aldo: born in 1923
Son of Pietro and Maggiorina (owners of a farm), a volcanic mind, full of thoughts and ideas, tough, revolutionary, strong-willed, returning in 1945 from captivity in Germany and Prussia, decorated by the President of the Republic with the Medal of Honor.
Maria: born in 1927
Unique wife, mother, and grandmother, daughter of Vincenzo and Teresa Carozzo, artisan owners of a “bottega” (workshop) for carpentry, ironwork, electrical work, and much more.
1947:
After their marriage, Maria and Aldo moved to Canelli, where they began working as couriers for the delivery of local products in a large area encompassing Piedmont, Liguria, and Lombardy.
1957:
Having sold their courier business, they settled in the Pianezzo region, where they rekindled their old passion for the cultivation of medicinal herbs. In those years, in the city of Canelli, an area rich in vineyards, there were – one could say on every street – small businesses dedicated to the production of wines and sparkling wines, in addition to the large historical companies (Contratto, Riccadonna, Gancia, Coppo, Bosca, Robba, Zoppa, etc.), without forgetting those who – primarily Bocchino and Aliberti – produced distilled spirits and liqueurs.
1959:
Aldo and Maria Cerutti began their liqueur production and herb distillation business under the name “ILAS”. It was in this context that some of the products were created that have been revived by the Cerutti Family with the distribution company Punto Bere srl, which owns the “FAMIGLIA CERUTTI LIQUORI DAL 1959” liqueur brand and the trademarks of the products that have been reintroduced in recent years, such as Amaro del Centenario, Gin GAM7.2, Aperilas Bitter, Aperilas Spritz, Limonquore, and our Vermouth di Torino.
In 2019, the Azienda Agricola Tenuta la Bacca of the Cerutti Gabriele family was established in Canelli, dedicated to the cultivation of juniper plants and other botanicals with the aim of reintroducing local, zero-kilometer products.
Today:
Today, the production of our products has reached over twenty items, covering all segments, from aperitifs to digestifs, with excellent results in modern mixology, striving to use natural ingredients as much as possible to improve the quality of the drinks served in the healthiest way possible, enhancing these characteristics.
